Main Event on Speedway Billy Night at Inland Motorsport Speedway in San
Bernardino presented by Bully Dog.
Former National Champion "Flyin" Mike Faria turned in another brilliant performance to capture the Denny Pyeatt Memorial at Inland Motorsport Speedway in San Bernardino.
Former National Champion "Flyin" Mike Faria was victorious in the Scratch Main Event at Inland Motorsports Speedway in San Bernardino.
The Scratch Main Event was reduced from five riders to four when Buck Blair was excluded for touching the tapes. When the tapes finally went up Faria jumped into the front ahead of his competitors. The wily veteran was never seriously threatened and calmly led all four laps to claim the victory. Shaun Harmatiuk finished second, Jimmy "Little Animal" Fishback was third, Gino Manzares finished fourth, and Blair was credited with fifth.
The Northern team held the trophy for this event going-in and kept it again as the North defeated the South by one point! You couldn't ask for a more dramatic ending to a war!
Skirt Night was a blast at IMS! There were a lot of crashes and fortunately no one was seriously hurt. The Third Division Main was restarted twice due to crashes.
Tonight the Harley's return to the IMS oval in San Bernardino California. Also featured is new rider, "Beachball" Brown. DeWayne Stark, #268 made the mistake of falling-down in front of the plus-sized "Beachball" and a large crash ensued. Slo-mo and close-up.
This week's racing at Inland Motorsport Speedway is a tribute to Bobby Schwartz, who is contesting his 37th consecutive year of Speedway Racing. Bobby successfully raced in Europe in the early eighties and is still competitve today. There's an extended interview of Bobby by Bruce Flanders and we've included a brief slideshow and some old racing footage from England. Jimmy Fishback wins the trophy, his second win this season at IMS. Pee Wees and Youth racing is also on the program.
Butch Waymire, the flying Third Division rider is bumped to Second Division.
The Last of the Mohicans, Last Man Out Challenge was won by young Gino Manzarez. As Flanders predicts in the opener, the young guys made their marks tonight! Second Division Pee Wee rider Hanna Smith won her Main. Jacob Wondolowski continued his domination of First Division Pee Wee. Nicky Reimer did the same in Youth. New-guy John Pavia won the Third Division Main, Joey Holt won in Second Division and Shawn McConnell won the Scratch Main.
